2. How does Choose Running Foundation work?

Individuals create a running goal connected to their personal story and mental health journey. Through Choose Running Foundation, supporters can come alongside them through encouragement, fundraising, and community support.

3. Who does Choose Running Foundation help?

We support anyone who has experienced mental health challenges from loss, grief, or trauma and want to find healing through endurance and faith. 

4. Does any race or event count?

Yes! Whether it’s a local 5K, half marathon, triathlon, or a full Ironman, every event counts. We believe every step, regardless of distance, has the power to bring healing, purpose, and connection.

5. How much financial support can I receive?

Support levels vary based on need, fundraising goals, and event type. We often help cover race entry fees, gear, and travel expenses for registered Choose Running athletes. The goal is to remove financial barriers so you can focus on running.

6. How does running help with grief and trauma?

Running engages both body and spirit, providing a healthy outlet to process pain and rebuild endurance. The physical movement mirrors the emotional journey: steady, challenging, but always moving forward. It’s not just about finishing a race; it’s about reclaiming your story.

7. How is Choose Running Foundation funded?

We’re supported through donations, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events. Every dollar directly fuels our mission, which is the bring awareness to mental health, and partner with individuals and inspire them to run.

8. Is my donation considered a tax write-off?
Yes. Choose Running Foundation is a recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. You’ll receive a donation receipt for your records.
9. How do I become a sponsor?
You can partner with us as an individual, business, or organization. Sponsors help fund athlete support, community events, and cause-driven campaigns.

Sponsorship Tiers Include:

  • Community Sponsor ($1,000+) – Name recognition on event pages and apparel.
  • Endurance Sponsor ($5,000+) – Logo placement, race partnership options, and athlete features.
  • Legacy Sponsor ($10,000+) – Prominent brand placement, social media features, and impact storytelling integration.

To become a sponsor, simply fill out  our Contact Us Form on our website indicating your interest in becoming a sponsor or email sponsors@chooserunning.org.

10. What if I get injured and can’t race?
We understand that life happens — including injuries. If you can’t race, your support and fundraising can still make an impact. We’ll work with you to:

  • Transfer your entry or defer your participation to a future event.
  • Redirect your fundraising to another athlete or partner cause.
  • Keep you connected with the community until you’re ready to return.

Healing takes time — and we’ll be here when you’re ready to lace up again.

11. Do I need to be an experienced athlete to join?
Not at all. Choose Running is about movement, not medals. Whether you’re walking your first 5K or training for an Ironman, you belong here.

We are a faith-inspired organization that welcomes everyone. Our mission is built on the belief that faith and movement can bring healing, connection, and renewal.

You can share your story through our website or social media channels. We highlight runners who’ve found mental health through endurance and faith, which inspire others to move forward.

We’re expanding partnerships with marathons, launching new fundraising campaigns, and growing our ambassador community nationwide — so no one has to run through mental health challenges alone.
